A historic commemoration of Yom HaShoah will take place on Thursday, April 8. It will feature Emily Judd, Thoufeek Zakriya and Fatema Al-Harbi and members of the Gulf Jewish communities and other Jewish communities. It is a unique event hosted by the Association of Gulf Jewish Communities (AGJC).
Ambassador Houda Nonoo tweeted about it on April 2. See her tweet here. Nonoo writes that she wanted to invite people to join the event with the AGJC “as we commemorate Yom HaShoah for the first time in the Gulf.”
The program will include a panel discussion featuring a Bahraini and Emirati who will talk about their experience visiting Yad Vashem and the impact it had on them. They will then be joined by a member of the Jewish community to discuss how Muslims and Jews can work together to create a new Middle East.
